Day 1: Siem Reap | Arrive in Siem Reap

International Flight: Excluded

Welcome to Cambodia! Upon arrival in Siem Reap, our guide will greet you at the airport and transfer you to Saem Siem Reap Hotel for check-in.

Siem Reap is a quaint town in Cambodia and the gateway to the vast remains of the Angkor empire. Discover the Royal Gardens on your own with ancient trees home to a colony of giant fruit bats. Take a stroll along the scenic riverside and visit the night markets to find unique souvenirs. You may also want to spend the evening with a visit to Pub Street with several restaurants and bars that stay open late into the night. Many restaurants have live entertainment in the evening.

Day 2: Siem Reap | Angkor Thom Ancient City

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast, you’ll begin your explorations of the remains of an ancient civilization that once ruled much of Southeast Asia. Today, you’ll be visiting the ancient capital city of Angkor Thom. On your way to Angkor Thom, you’ll catch a glimpse of the front of Angkor Wat as you pass by, which will leave you with a tingling feeling on the back of your neck as you take your first glance of the enormity and wonder of the largest religious complex to ever exist.

However, we’ll be saving the best for last as you go on today to see some other equally impressive structures of Ta Prohm Temple, Bayon Temple, Banteay Kdei, Baphoun, Elephant Terrace, Leper King Terrace, and the Royal Palace. First on the agenda is Ta Prohm. Worn by time, rain, and overpowered by the jungle, this immaculate structure is hidden under the canopy will leave you feeling like you’ve stepped into the movie set of a treasure hunt adventure. Your private tour guide will give you the history and stories passed through oral tradition.

Bayon Temple – 2 Weeks The Taste of Cambodia and Thailand Beach Break

After you’ve had lunch, your exploits will continue as you visit Banteay Kdei Citadel of Chambers. You’ll also visit Victory Gate, Terrace of the Leper King, the Royal Palace, Baphuon, and Bayon. Bayon sets itself apart with its almost 200 smiling faces, sure to make you feel welcomed on your second day to the Kingdom of Wonders. With its winding tunnels, chambers, and daring climbs, Bayon will give you many picturesque moments to keep your camera busy.

As the sun approaches the horizon, you’ll enjoy a sunset from the top of the pyramid-shaped temple of Pre Rup. After sunset, you’ll be taken back to the hotel for the evening.

Day 3: Siem Reap – Chiang Mai | Angkor Wat Sunrise | Flight to Chiang Mai

Before the light of the day, our guide will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to the front of Angkor Wat Temple. From here, you’ll watch one of the most revered sunrises in the world. Our guide will arrange a light picnic breakfast for you to enjoy in front of the world’s #1 Heritage Site. Then in the early hours, you’ll explore the vast temple with your guide bringing to life the stories of Angkor. In the morning, the rays of the light play through the chambers as the morning haze settles and giving the temple a mystical ambiance while there are few tourists who visit during this time of day.

After your explorations, you’ll transfer by flight to Chiang Mai with a short layover in Bangkok(1h40m). Upon arrival, our guide will greet you at the airport and transfer you to Baan Huen Phen Chiang Mai for check-in.

The old city walls still stand formidably against the ravages of time, inviting pilgrims to come rest, and explore the lost treasures of the Lanna Kingdom. Established as the capital in 1296AD of the vast “Kingdom of a Million Rice Fields”, Chiang Mai carries a heritage lurking around every quiet cobble-stone alley and corridor. These days, cafes, boutiques, pubs, and spas are auspiciously peppered throughout, while colorful Meo and Akha hill tribes make their daily ritual visit to the valley to offer their hand made tapestries and handicrafts to curious adventurers. The Ping River weaves through the valley to the East of the Old City while a peaceful moat surrounds the time-worn walls.

Day 4: Chiang Mai | Elephant Sanctuary | Doi Suthep Temple

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

In the morning, you will join a tour to an elephant sanctuary in the jungles near Chiang Mai by 4WD truck. First, you’ll learn about the project and hear the amazing stories of each rescued and orphaned elephant. Learn how they became a proud herd free from abuse and misuse. Then have an opportunity to feed them. Take a stroll with the herd to the nearby river. Here you will have the opportunity to observe or participate in bathing the elephants with the sanctuary staff. Next, enjoy a picnic spread for lunch.

Note: This tour is with other travelers. Please note not to wear any perfume or strong fragrances as elephants are sensitive to smell. Also, bring a change of clothes for swimming, odorless sunscreen, and a towel.

In the afternoon, visit Wat Prathat Doi Suthep Temple perched on Suthep mountain. Every Temple with a name starting with Wat Prathat contains Buddhist relics and is considered sacred to adherents. Climb around 300 steps to reach the temple. On the way, ring some of the temple bells, if you like. The temple has a set of impressive murals picturing scenes from the life and teachings of Buddha. Note for Wilfred & Cindy: Our driver and vehicle will pick you up at 2:30 PM and return you at 7 PM. Upon arrival please go to get the ticket(on your own account) at the foot mountain.

Day 5: Chiang Mai – Bangkok | Chiang Mai Temples | Tiger Kingdom | Evening Flight to Bangkok

In the morning, visit the most prominent temples in Chiang Mai. Start with Wat Chedi Luang, which once contained the Emerald Buddha. The temple is partially in ruins due to an earthquake in the 1500s. Then stop at Wat Chiang Man which is the oldest temple in Chiang Mai and also houses one of Thailand’s greatest treasures: the Crystal Buddha.

Then continue to Wat Suan Dok, which houses many of the remains of generations of the old Chiang Mai Royal Family.
Continue to the Tiger Kingdom. The tigers are quite tame and have been familiar with people since they were cubs. Start with a briefing with the tiger keeper on appropriate behavior when around the tigers. Then you’ll meet one of the small tigers for a photoshoot. Feel free to pet the tiger. The minimum height required is 5ft 3in and must be 18 years or older.

Day 6: Bangkok | Ayutthaya Ancient City and Cruise by Grand Pearl

Ayutthaya used to be the flourishing and prosperous capital of Siam. During its 417 year reign, there arose a great deal of construction. Among them were numerous palaces and temples. As more than 30 monarchies ruled over Ayutthaya, innumerable events occurred, some of which were recorded in history, while others became exciting legends. Time-worn and tattered in war, the ruined temples and palaces are no doubt ancient relics reflecting a golden and glorious past.

The full-day tour will commence in the morning. After being greeted at your hotel’s lobby you’ll be escorted to Ayutthaya – the Ancient City, Wat Maha That – the heart and soul of the Ayutthaya people, Wat Na Phra Mane – still in perfect condition, as it was used as the Burmese headquarters, and Wat Lokayasutharam – a mysterious past, whereby its origins are unknown. You will then commence the Grand Pearl Cruise.

At embarkment, you’ll enjoy a full menu of Thai and European cuisines, desserts, seasonal fruits, coffee, and tea for a buffet lunch on the Chao Phraya River. While taking your lunch on-board the cruise, you may enjoy the exotic flora and sites along the banks. Both air-conditioned and open-aired seating is available, depending on your preference. Either view, you will get an amazing view of the daily life of the inhabitants that dwell along the river. Arriving at the city, you will pass the Grand Pearl, followed by Wat Arun – (the Temple of Dawn) the temple was the former palace when the Thai capital of Ayutthaya was replaced by Thonburi.

As the sun is setting, you’ll arrive at the River City Complex, Si Phraya. Then return to your hotel

Day 7: Bangkok | Khao Yai National Park Tour

Khao Yai National Park – 2 Weeks The Taste of Cambodia and Thailand Beach Break

Khao Yai National Park covers more than 2,000 square kilometers of tropical seasonal forests and grasslands in central Thailand. More than 50 km of hiking and biking trails wind through the long-standing nature preserve, and its many waterfalls include the highest and the most famous waterfall in the park, Haew Narok and Haew Suwat, the famous 20 m. waterfall from Leonardo Di Caprio’s film ‘The Beach.’ The park is home to a variety of animals such as hornbills, gibbons, pig-tailed macaques, muntjacs, and sambar deer. It is one of the few places in Thailand where wild elephants still survive.

Have breakfast and leave the hotel early morning. Then drive to Khao Yai National Park. Start with a visit to their View Point and Visitor Center. Go hiking through dry evergreen forests & grasslands. It is common to see gibbons, monkeys, and hornbills on the way. Have lunch at a local restaurant and then transfer to Haew Narok Waterfall. Take a 2-hour trail trek. Then wild elephant spotting where they come to enjoy the salt licks. Return back to Bangkok in the evening.

Things to bring: Hat, insect repellent, trekking shoes or boots, long-sleeved shirt, long pants, camera or binoculars, towel, and swimming if you wish to swim.

Day 8: Bangkok | Floating Market: Khlong Lad Mayom | Afternoon Leisure

In the morning, you will be picked up from the hotel lobby and transferred to one of the most attractive floating markets of Thailand, Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market. There, you will have a chance to take a boat observing the lifestyle of locals along the small canals. After the exploration, return to the hotel for some leisure time in the afternoon.

Day 9: Bangkok – Phuket | Bangkok by Boat | Afternoon Flight to Phuket

In the early morning, take a traditional long-tail boat to Wat Arun – the Temple of the Dawn to enjoy a stunning view and explore the gem of Bangkok.

Continue to one of the must-see sights, the spectacular Grand Palace, undoubtedly the city’s most famous landmark. Built in 1782- and for 150 years the home of the Thai King, the Royal court and the administrative seat of government – the Grand Palace of Bangkok is a grand old dame indeed, that continues to have visitors in awe with its beautiful architecture and intricate detail, all of which is a proud salute to the creativity and craftsmanship of Thai people.

Within its walls were also the Thai war ministry, state departments, and even the mint. Today, the complex remains the spiritual heart of the Thai Kingdom. Within the palace complex are several impressive buildings including Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), which contains the small, very famous and greatly revered Emerald Buddha that dates back to the 14th century. The robes on the Buddha are changed with the seasons by HM The King of Thailand and forms an important ritual in the Buddhist calendar. Thai Kings stopped living in the palace around the turn of the twentieth century, but the palace complex is still used to mark all kinds of other ceremonial and auspicious happenings.

In the afternoon, take a flight to Phuket. Upon arrival, our guide will greet you at the airport and transfer you to The Senses Resort Patong for check-in.

Day 10: Phuket | Sea Caves by Starlight

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

World-famous kayaking inside marine limestone karst islands with macaques, water monitors, kingfishers, and Sea Eagles. Meet at the hotel around 11 AM to transfer to the pier (1 hour). Then continue by boat with a light lunch served on board. Self-paddle with your own sea cave guide through tunnels and lagoons.

When darkness falls, stars shine overhead in the circle of the black night, fireflies flash in the cliffside jungle and, most of all, the sea glows with phosphorescence. Enjoy a spiritual ceremony with your own made “Krathong”.

Have a magnificent dinner onboard. Then return to land. A truly magical and out of this world experience (Listed among National Geographic’s “World’s Top 50 Adventures”).

Day 12: Krabi | Hong Island by Longtail Boat

This morning, you’ll take a longtail boat to visit one of the most stunning islands in Krabi Koh Hong, where locals collect bird nests a local delicacy. The coral reefs here are amazing and reef siphons can also be found Naturally, there is also an abundance of brightly colored tropical fish also be found here in these tropical waters.

Marvel at the stunning scenery of Koh Hong, karst formations, visit the underwater world snorkeling around the coral reefs, relax swimming or sunbathing. The inner area of Koh Hong houses beaches and mangrove forests completely surrounded by limestone mountains making the island look like a room which is the source of the name Koh Hong or Room Island where kayaks can glide through during low tide, you can walk comfortably around inside again to relax and explore Hong Island.
