Day 1: Siem Reap | Welcome to Cambodia!

Welcome to Cambodia! When your flight arrives, our guide will greet you at the airport and escort you to Shinta Mani Club for check in. Then receive a short tour briefing to start your Laos, Cambodia and Thailand tour.  The rest of the day is at leisure. Meanwhile feel free to explore the night markets or take a stroll along the nearby serene Siem Reap river.

The evening will begin with a traditional Apsara Dinner Show. A unique dinner experience will bring ancient Khmer culture to life in spectacular surroundings while you enjoy the very best in Cambodia cuisine.  In fact, this unique cultural experience highlights the mysterious civilization and heritage of Khmer spoken through choreography and music. Colorful costumes and playful activities will give you insights into the Khmer daily life and wedding traditions while you enjoy a delicious meal to welcome you to the Kingdom of Wonders.

Day 2: Siem Reap | Explore the Angkor Ancient City

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch

After breakfast, you’ll begin your explorations of the remains of an ancient civilization that once ruled much of Southeast Asia. You’ll be visiting the ancient capital city of Angkor Thom. On your way to Angkor Thom, catch a glimpse of the front of Angkor Wat as you pass by, which will leave you with a tingling feeling on the back of your neck as you take your first glance of the enormity and wonder of the largest religious complex to ever exist. However, we’ll be saving the best for last.

First on the agenda is Ta Prohm. Worn by time, rain, and overpowered by the jungle, this immaculate structure will leave you feeling like you’ve stepped into the movie set of a treasure hunt adventure. Meanwhile, your private tour guide will give you the history and stories passed through oral tradition.
Have lunch next to the ancient Srah Srang manmade pool. After your exploits will continue as you visit Banteay Kdei (“Citadel of Chambers”). You’ll also visit Victory Gate, Terrace of the Leper King, the Royal Palace, Baphuon, and Bayon. Bayon sets itself apart with its almost 200 smiling faces thus sure to make you feel welcomed on your second day to the Kingdom of Wonders. With its winding tunnels, chambers, and daring climbs, Bayon will give you many picturesque moments to keep your camera busy.

Finally, as the sun approaches the horizon, you’ll enjoy a majestic sunset from the top of the pyramid-shaped temple of Pre Rup. After you’ll be taken back to your hotel for the evening.

Day 3: Siem Reap | Excursion on the Tonle Sap Lake

Meals: Breakfast

During the morning, you’ll take a boat trip on the water of the Tonle Sap Lake to a floating village called Kampong Phluk. Kampong Phluk means Harbor of the Tusks due to its past trade in elephant ivory many years ago. Having 3,000 habitants residing in stilted houses, the most common profession is fishing.

Day 4: Siem Reap – Luang Prabang | Ancient Wonder of the World: Angkor Wat Temple | Fly to Luang Prabang

For your last day in Siem Reap, you’ll experience the temple relics in a way that will really let you feel like you’ve escaped the 20th century and traveled a thousand years back to a time when life was simple and nature was surreal.

After breakfast, you’ll go for a gondola ride through the moats of Angkor Thom to see the vast ruins of the Khmer Empire during its peak. Close your eyes and smell the sweet perfume of the romdoul flowers growing wild on the shore mixed with the scent of lotus flowers bobbing in the water.

Finally, be prepared today to enjoy one of the Seven Wonders of the World: Angkor Wat. At this point, you most probably have gotten glimpses of the towers over treetops and the gates in front in passing. But now you’ll finally get to satiate that curiosity that’s grown in the last few days.

Enter Angkor Wat and learn about the stories and amazing architecture that has stunned archaeologists leaving more questions than answers. Angkor Wat possesses some of the most intricate and longest stone carvings in the world. This complex is four times the size of the Vatican City making it the largest religious site in the world. Spend the morning adventuring through the many passages, levels, and exploring chambers that once housed many treasures of the ancient world. It will be an experience you won’t forget.
Enjoy the afternoon at leisure until your flight to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival in Luang Prabang, our guide will greet you at the airport and escort you to Belmond Residence Phou Vao for check in.

Day 5: Luang Prabang | Luang Prabang Highlights

Meals: Breakfast , Dinner
During early morning participate in the Alms Giving Ceremony where a procession of monks solemnly passes by the hotel as locals humbly place balls of sticky rice in their bowls. You may also participate in this ceremony and sticky rice will be provided by the hotel.

Start with a visit to the Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts. Then head to the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. Also, visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrines of Wat Aham and Wat Mai. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.

This memorable evening commences with a cruise dinner on the Nava Mekong. Thus float downstream admiring the scenery of the Mekong and moor near a traditional village. Watch on as traditional Lao dancers perform age-old sets that include interpretations of the royal ballet, rural life, folk tales and legends.

Day 6: Luang Prabang | Hike to Kuang Si Falls

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch
Transfer in the morning to Ban Long Lao village – a Hmong and Khmu ethnic village who in fact live simple lives off the land in a self-sustained community. After exploring the village and mingling with the locals, you’ll begin the hike to Kuang Si Falls. Along the way are lush green forests and clear streams. Visit a cave along the way that once acted as a bomb shelter.

Arrive at Kuang Si Waterfall – one of the most turquoise waterfalls in the world. The afternoon can be spent swimming in the waterfall and visiting the Bear Rescue Center where several Sun Bears and Malayan Black Bears are being cared for after being rescued from bile farms and wildlife traffickers. Then you’ll return to Luang Prabang and climb up mount Phousi to enjoy a superb panoramic view of Luang Prabang, the surrounding hills, and the Mekong River.

After sunset, feel free to visit the sprawling night markets where ethnic tribes come to sell their textiles and curios to visitors.

Day 7: Luang Prabang – Pakbeng | Gateway to Laos: Cruise to Pak Ou Caves

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch , Dinner
Start the morning with our guide greeting you at the hotel. Then transfer to the pier for your cruise departure up the Gateway of Laos. Enjoy a scenic cruise with Luang Say Cruise on the Mekong showcasing lush hills and cliffs.

On the way, stop at Pak Ou Caves – small caves crammed full of thousands of Buddha statues owing to local boatsmen having placed these in prayer for safe passage on the Mighty Mekong River. Next have lunch onboard with a selection of starters and main courses from Laos’ varied cuisine. Then stop at the village of Baw where you may see the distillation process of Lao whiskey.

As the sun approaches the horizon, arrive at Luang Say Lodge where you’ll stay for the night. Enjoy dinner on the open terrace while overlooking the Mekong as the sun makes it’s exit over the jungled horizon.

Day 8: Pakbeng – Chiang Rai | Gateway to Laos: Cruise to Huay Xai

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch , Dinner
Enjoy the stunning sights of the mountains covered in mist while having a sumptuous breakfast on the teak terrace.

Then embark for a continued discovery of the nature along the Mekong River.

After lunch, stop at a traditional ethnic minority village of the Tai Lue tribe who came from China over 300 years ago. The men often obtain tattoos which are believed to protect from spirits and also to attract women.

During late afternoon, arrive in Huay Xai for disembarkation and crossing immigration into Thailand. After crossing the Thai bridge, our guide will greet you and escort you to Anantara Resort Golden Triangle Elephant Camp for check in at their Deluxe Three Country View Room with a balcony overlooking the hills of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. Enjoy dinner at one of their restaurants meanwhile overlooking the convergence of Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand.

Day 9: Chiang Rai | Jungle Trek with Elephants

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch , Dinner
After breakfast, you’ll meet your mahout and proceed to find your elephant in the forest.

During today you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the gentle giants. Experience jungle trekking with the elephants, bathing them and learn about the light touches and commands used to communicate with them. After have, lunch at Anantara’s Sala Mae Nam restaurant. In the afternoon, also learn about the elephant conservation project at Anantara.

Day 10: Chiang Rai | Hilltribes of the Thai “Alpes”

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch , Dinner
After breakfast transfer to Mae Salong mountain, a scenic peak in the Shan Highlands. First stop at a tea plantation to try some fresh hot tea in the morning while taking in the splendid views. Learn about the Chinese military KMT village that resettled at Mae Salong and their interesting story. Have lunch at a Yunnanese restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Akha, Yao and Lisu hill-tribe villages. Then return to the resort for leisure time.

Day 11: Chiang Rai – Chiang Mai | Mountain Roadtrip to Chiang Mai

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch
Morning is at leisure until lunch. After take a scenic mountain road trip to transfer to Chiang Mai. On the way stop at the White Temple – a modern Thai artist’s ongoing creation. Continue to Chiang Mai where you will transfer to Anantara Chiang Mai for check in. Then the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 12: Chiang Mai | Inthanon Peak

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch
Today, you’ll explore Doi Inthanon National Park. Meanwhile, you’ll visit the highest peak where glorious views of the countryside await. You’ll also trek to many waterfalls and see the flora and fauna unique to this region. , During the day you’ll visit several pagodas, hill tribe villages, and royal gardens as time permits.

Day 13: Chiang Mai | Cycling in Chiang Mai’s Countryside

Meals: Breakfast
Start the morning with a bicycle ride through the southern part of Chiang Mai. During which the route takes you on quiet and green land roads, passing temples and ruins dating back hundreds of years. Also, visit a special school for hill-tribe children and a small pottery school where you can see how they produce different shapes of pottery by hand. Ride along the Ping River and enjoy the clean highland air. Then return to the hotel for leisure time in the afternoon.

Day 14: Chiang Mai – Koh Samui | Flight to Beach Paradise on Samui Island

Today transfer by flight to Samui Island. Upon landing, your driver will meet you with a sign board and transfer you to Vana Belle, a Luxury Collection Resort for check in. Enjoy the suite with a private infinity pool and views of the enchanting Gulf of Siam.

Day 15: Koh Samui | Relax on the Beach

Today is at leisure to enjoy the beautiful beach or you may explore around Koh Samui Island with the many trails around the resort.

Day 16: Koh Samui | Angthong Marine National Park by Speedboat

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch
During the morning you’ll take a speedboat from Koh Samui to Angthong Marine National Park. In particular, the park includes Mae Island with a beautiful beach and an emerald saltwater lake called Thale Nai. Lunch is included at Koh Paluay, which is away from any noise and modern development. After lunch, enjoy swimming, sunbathing, canoeing or just relaxing on the pristine white sandy beaches. Note: This is a joint tour with other travelers.

Day 17: Koh Samui – Bangkok | Flight to Bangkok

Morning is at your leisure to enjoy the beach resort until afternoon. Then transfer by flight to Bangkok. After your arrival, our guide will greet you at the airport and transfer you to Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok for check in. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Day 18: Bangkok | Bangkok Highlights

Meals: Breakfast
In the morning first is Wat Phra Kaew, the chapel of the Emerald Buddha. Notably, it houses the world’s most famous image of Buddha. Next, you’ll visit The Grand Palace which encompasses several major buildings. The most prominent include The Throne Hall, The Reception Hall, and The Coronation Hall.

Then visit Wat Traimit, the temple of the golden Buddha. It weighs 5.5 tons of solid gold and was sculptured in the Sukhothai style. Return to your hotel by noon and the afternoon is at your leisure.

The evening will commence with a Chao Phraya River Dinner Cruise on Apsara by Banyan Tree. While dusk is setting, enjoy the views of the lights of Bangkok while tasting sumptuous courses served to you en route.

Return to the hotel after dinner.
