Welcome to Cambodia – the Kingdom of Wonders. Upon arrival, our guide will greet you at the airport and escort you to Shinta Mani Club for check in. You’ll receive a short tour briefing in the lobby and then will have some leisure time.

The evening will begin with a traditional Apsara Dinner Show. A unique dinner experience will bring ancient Khmer culture to life in spectacular surroundings while you enjoy the very best in Cambodian cuisine. This one-of-a-kind cultural experience highlights the mysterious civilization and heritage of Khmer spoken through choreography and music. Colorful costumes and playful activities will give you insights into the Khmer daily life and wedding traditions while you enjoy a delicious meal to welcome you to the Orient.

Day 2: Siem Reap | Explore the Ancient Angkor Capital

After breakfast, you’ll begin your explorations of the remains of an ancient civilization that once ruled much of Southeast Asia. Today, you’ll be visiting the ancient capital city of Angkor Thom. On your way to Angkor Thom, you’ll catch a glimpse of the front of Angkor Wat as you pass by, which will leave you with a tingling feeling on the back of your neck as you take your first glance of the enormity and wonder of the largest religious complex to ever exist.

However, we’ll be saving the best for last as you go on today to see some other equally impressive structures of Ta Prohm Temple, Bayon Temple, Banteay Kdei, Baphoun, Elephant Terrace, Leper King Terrace, and the Royal Palace. First on the agenda is Ta Prohm. Worn by time, rain, and overpowered by the jungle, this immaculate structure hidden under canopy will leave you feeling like you’ve stepped into the movie set of a treasure hunt adventure. Your private tour guide will give you the history and stories passed through oral tradition.
After you’ve had lunch, your exploits will continue as you visit Banteay Kdei (“Citadel of Chambers”). You’ll also visit Victory Gate, Terrace of the Leper King, the Royal Palace, Baphuon and Bayon. Bayon sets itself apart with its almost 200 smiling faces, sure to make you feel welcomed on your second day to the Kingdom of Wonders. With its winding tunnels, chambers, and daring climbs, Bayon will give you many picturesque moments to keep your camera busy.

As the sun approaches the horizon, you’ll enjoy a sunset from the top of the pyramid-shaped temple of Pre Rup. After sunset, you’ll be taken back to your hotel for the evening.

Day 3: Siem Reap | Excursion on the Tonle Sap Lake

In the morning, you’ll take a boat trip on the water of the Tonle Sap Lake to a floating village called Kampong Phluk. Kampong Phluk means, Harbor of the Tusks, due to it’s past trade in elephant ivory many years ago. Having 3,000 habitants residing in stilted houses, the most common profession is fishing.

Day 4: Siem Reap – Saigon | Wonder of Asia: Angkor Wat Temple | Flight to Saigon

For your last day in Siem Reap, you’ll experience the temple relics in a way that will really let you feel like you’ve escaped the 20th century and traveled a thousand years back to a time when life was simple and nature was surreal.

After breakfast, you’ll go for a gondola ride through the moats of Angkor Thom to see the vast ruins of the Khmer Empire at its peak. Close your eyes and smell the sweet perfume of the romdoul flowers growing wild on the shore mixed with the scent of lotus flowers bobbing in the water.

Finally, be prepared today to enjoy one of the Seven Wonders of the World: Angkor Wat. At this point, you most probably have gotten glimpses of the towers over treetops and the gates in front in passing. But now you’ll finally get to satiate that curiosity that’s grown in the last few days.

Enter Angkor Wat and learn about the stories and amazing architecture that has stunned archeologists leaving more questions than answers. Angkor Wat possesses some of the most intricate and longest stone carvings in the world. This complex is four times the size of the Vatican City making it the largest religious site in the world. Spend the morning adventuring through the many passages, levels, and exploring chambers that once housed one many treasures of the ancient world. It will be an experience you won’t forget.

Day 5: Saigon | Mekong Delta Discovery: My Tho Island

Discover the Mekong River, essential to Vietnamese life.

You’ll transfer to the remote My Tho.

This burgeoning capital rests in the Mekong Delta and is surrounded by beautiful countryside known as the “rice basket of Vietnam”. First you’ll visit Vinh Trang Pagoda which is decorated with mosaics made from broken pottery. Overlooked by a tall white Buddha, it is set amongst lovely gardens packed with flowers, shrubs, lotus pools and tombs and ornate gates which provide entry.

Next, you’ll take a boat ride along the river to view the stilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages.

After lunch, you’ll visit An Khanh, a small village that specializes in fruit orchards and coconut sweets. If time permits, you can take a short cycling trip through the island.

Then enjoy seasonal fruit, honey tea, and delicious coconut candies all to the sound of “Southern Vietnamese folk music”, performed by locals. After the tour is finished, you’ll return to Saigon. The evening is at your leisure.

A unique dinner experience in Bonsai Cruise is the perfect way to soak up the activity of the Saigon River. Transfer to Saigon pier to take a 2-hour cruise on a traditional junk and enjoy a delightful evening dinner. You will be greeted by the captain and crew once you board the junk. Relax on the upper deck and enjoy the panoramic view of the city lights. Enjoy several traditional dishes, including rice flower pancakes Banh Xeo or pork pineapple skewers made on the BBQ grill for dinner. Be welcomed to Vietnam with a live traditional music show and dance during the meal.

Day 6: Saigon – Danang | Flight to Danang | Relax on the Beach

Day 7: Hoi An – Danang | Hoi An Ancient Town at Dusk

Morning is at your leisure to enjoy the beachfront resort. In the late afternoon, you’ll visit Hoi An Ancient Town. This town features the 16th century Hoi An port town in its preserved state. You’ll start the day visiting the Museum of Trade Ceramics. This museum houses art and pottery dating from the 1,500s to the 1,700s.

Then you’ll briefly visit the Chua Ong Pagoda, a temple from the 17th century which features China’s influence in the region. You’ll continue through the Ancient Town as the streets take on a magic of their own with old lanterns, French-style houses, intricately carved wooden doors and more. You’ll take a stroll through the Old Tam Ky House to see it’s imperial styles meshed with French overtures. Continue on to stroll along the river and see traditional boats and locals on bicycles passing by. You’ll then approach the Japanese Covered Bridge. This bridge has connected the Chinese and Japanese sides of town over the waterway for centuries. The old wooden structure has shown amazing resilience for more than 400 years.

At dusk, enjoy walking along the riverside as old colorful lanterns light up the town. After you’ve finished exploring, transfer back to the resort.

Day 8: Hoi An – Danang | My Son 4th Century Ruins

Today you’ll explore the My Son Holy Land, a UNESCO Heritage site and Vietnam’s most important Cham site.

In the morning, your tour guide and driver will escort you from your hotel to the My Son Holy Land. Tucked in the mountains up winding roads with serene views lay the 4th century My Son Holy Land ruins. The ruins lay in a beautiful surrounding mountainous landscape. You’ll enter the temples while your tour guide gives you the history and stories of the Cham and the site.

Return to the resort for leisure time.

Day 9: Danang – Hanoi | Leisure on the Beach | Flight to Hanoi

Morning is at leisure to enjoy the beach and spa one last time. In the afternoon, you’ll transfer by flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, our guide will meet you and transfer to Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake where a room in a stilted pavilion on the lake awaits you.

The evening will start with a Water Puppet Show performed by the world-renowned Thang Long Opera House. This performance features a talent unique to Vietnam. You’ll watch as water puppets perform the folklore legends of Vietnam while live ethnic music sets the mood. After the show, you’ll enjoy traditional Vietnamese cuisine at Home Restaurant – a historic French colonial residence restored in between the Old Quarter and the serene West Lake. Once you finish your dinner, you’ll be escorted to your hotel.

Day 10: Hanoi | Street Food Tour with Daniel Hoyer

Today, you’ll have a fun “foodie” experience in Vietnamese cuisine led by world-renown American chef and author Daniel Hoyer. Visit local vendors and establishments for the best inside scoop on dining Hanoi has to offer. Learn Vietnamese culinary secrets Daniel has come to discover and love during his time in Hanoi. Day 11: Hanoi – Halong Bay | Emerald Halong Bay with Paradise Luxury Cruise

In the morning, enjoy a scenic ride to Tuan Chau Island. Here you will board a sea plane for a scenic flight through Halong and Bai Tu Bays. After the flight, embark on Paradise Luxury Cruise into Halong Bay. Lunch is served in the panoramic dining hall while passing through green covered islets. After lunch, anchor at Cua Van Floating Village where you’ll visit by bamboo row boats to see the fishing communities lifestyle on the water.

Continue cruising past several caves and islands to Coconut Three Island where the cruise will moor overnight. Start the evening with a traditional spring roll demonstration where you’ll have an opportunity to roll your own. Then head to the sundeck for a cocktail, assorted nuts, and canapés. Then begin dinner in the dining hall where a host of Vietnamese and fresh seafood dishes will be presented. After dinner, several activities are available such as a Movie, squid fishing(seasonal) or leisure time.

Day 12: Hanoi – Halong Bay | Halong Bay with Paradise Luxury Cruise

Rise early in the morning to catch the sunrise over the bay followed by a Tai Chi class on the Sundeck. Coffee, tea, and pastries will be served followed by an international breakfast buffet. After breakfast, transfer to the Explorer boat for today’s bay excursions. First visit Titop Island where you can enjoy swimming, relax on the beach, or climb to the top for panoramic views of the bay. Then visit Luon Cave by boat. The other side of the cave opens up to a grotto inside the island where you may spot golden macaques playing on the cliffs.

At noon, enjoy lunch on the Paradise Explorer boat while the bay passes by. Continue to Tien Ong Cave where you’ll explore the large cavern with unique stalactite formations inside. Return back to the main boat and enjoy some leisure time. As the sun is setting, take part in another cooking demonstration or relax. Dinner is served followed by an array of activities available for your enjoyment.

Day 13: Halong Bay – Hanoi | Scenic Seaplane Tour of Halong Bay

The morning begins with a Tai Chi session followed by coffee, tea and pastries. Then visit Sung Sot Cave, one of the largest in Halong Bay. Return to the boat for an international A-la-carte breakfast. Then leisure time as the boat returns to Tuan Chau Island. Upon disembarkation, our guide will greet you and you’ll transfer back to Hanoi. On the way, stop for Vietnamese “Pho”, a traditional soup with flat rice noodles, meat, and herbs. Upon return in Hanoi, enjoy leisure time.

Day 14: Hanoi – Luang Prabang | Hanoi Highlights | Flight to Luang Prabang

In the morning, you’ll be escorted to see the Tran Quoc Pagoda. This 1,400 year old temple features ten tiers surrounded by gardens and which also hosts a bodhi tree grown from a cutting of the original Buddhist tree under which Buddha sat. Next, you’ll take a stroll around the Hoan Kiem Lake where you can see the Tortoise Tower sitting on the water. Then you’ll enjoy a half hour cyclo tour through the Old Quarter in Hanoi. The cyclo is a historic mode of transportation in the cities of Vietnam where a cyclist escorts you while you sit in a seat affixed to the front with a canopy over top.
Next, you’ll visit the One Pillar Pagoda – a pagoda situated on a pillar made of a single stone, in the middle of a lotus pond. This pagoda was built by a 9th century emperor who saw it in a dream and regarded this as divine inspiration to recreate the structure in the vision.
You’ll pass by the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum before visiting the highlight of this tour – The Temple of Literature. This ancient university was erected almost a millennium ago and has hosted many of the most prominent scholars through Vietnamese history. The site features many gardens, pools, buildings, and ancient trees where the best and brightest of Vietnam studied under the guidance of Confucius teachings.

Day 15: Luang Prabang | Luang Prabang Highlights

Rise early this morning to participate in the Alms Giving Ceremony where a procession of monks solemnly pass by the hotel as locals humbly place balls of sticky rice in their bowls. You may also participate in this ceremony and sticky rice will be provided by the hotel.

After breakfast, start with a visit to the Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts. We then head to the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. We’ll also visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrines of Wat Aham and Wat Mai. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.

This memorable evening commences with a cruise dinner on the Nava Mekong. Float downstream admiring the scenery of the Mekong and moor near a traditional village. Watch on as traditional Lao dancers perform age-old sets that include interpretations of the royal ballet, rural life, folk tales and legends.

Day 16: Luang Prabang | Hike to Kuang Si Falls

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch
Transfer in the morning to Ban Long Lao village – a Hmong and Khmu ethnic village who live simple lives off the land in a self-sustained community. After exploring the village and mingling with the locals, you’ll begin the hike to Kuang Si Falls. Along the way are lush green forests and clear streams. Visit a cave along the way that once acted as a bomb shelter. Arrive at Kuang Si Waterfall – one of the most turquoise waterfalls in the world. The afternoon can be spent swimming in the waterfall and visiting the Bear Rescue Center where several Sun Bears and Malayan Black Bears are being cared for after being rescued from bile farms and wildlife traffickers. Then you’ll return to Luang Prabang and climb up mount Phousi to enjoy a superb panoramic view of Luang Prabang, the surrounding hills and the Mekong River.

After sunset, feel free to visit the sprawling night markets where ethnics tribes come to sell their textiles and curios to visitors.

Day 17: Luang Prabang – Pakbeng | Gateway to Laos: Cruise to Pak Ou Caves

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch , Dinner
In the morning, our guide will greet you at the hotel and escort you to the pier for your cruise departure up the Gateway of Laos. Enjoy a scenic cruise on the Mekong with lush hills and cliffs.

On the way, stop at Pak Ou Caves – these small caves are crammed full of thousands of Buddha statues that local boatsmen have placed in prayer for safe passage on the Mighty Mekong River.

Have lunch onboard with a selection of starters and main courses from Laos’ varied cuisine.

Then stop at the village of Baw where you may see the distillation process of Lao whiskey.

As the sun approaches the horizon, arrive at Luang Say Lodge where you’ll stay for the night. Enjoy dinner on the open terrace overlooking the Mekong as the sun makes it’s exit over the jungled horizon.

Day 18: Pakbeng – Chiang Rai | Gateway to Laos: Cruise to Huay Xai

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch , Dinner
Enjoy the stunning sights of the mountains covered in mist while having a sumptuous breakfast on the teak terrace.

Then embark for continued discovery of the nature along the Mekong River.

After lunch, stop at a traditional ethnic minority village of the Tai Lue tribe who came from China over 300 years ago. The men often obtain tattooes which are believed to protect from spirits and also to attract women.

Late afternoon arrive in Huay Xai for disembarkation and crossing immigration into Thailand. After crossing the Thai bridge, our guide will greet you and escort you to Anantara Resort Golden Triangle Elephant Camp for check in. Enjoy dinner at one of their restaurants overlooking the convergence of Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand.

Day 19: Chiang Rai | Jungle Trek with Elephants

Rise early in the morning. After breakfast, you’ll meet your mahout and proceed to find your elephant in the forest.

Today you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the gentle giants. Experience jungle trekking with the elephants, bathing them, and learn about the light touches and commands used to communicate with them. Have lunch at Anantara’s Sala Mae Nam restaurant. In the afternoon, learn about the elephant conservation project at Anantara.

Day 20: Chiang Rai | Hilltribes of the Thai “Alpes”

In the morning, transfer to Mae Salong mountain, a scenic peak in the Shan Highlands. First stop at a tea plantation to try some fresh hot tea in the morning while taking in the splendid views. Learn about the Chinese military KMT village that resettled at Mae Salong and their interesting story. Have lunch at a Yunnanese restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Akha, Yao and Lisu hill-tribe villages. Then return to the resort for leisure time.

Day 21: Chiang Rai – Chiang Mai | Mountain Roadtrip to Chiang Mai

Morning is at leisure. After lunch, you’ll take a scenic mountain road trip to transfer to Chiang Mai. On the way, stop at the White Temple – a modern Thai artists ongoing creation. Continue to Chiang Mai where you will transfer to Anantara Chiang Mai for check in. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 22: Chiang Mai | Inthanon Peak

Today, you’ll explore Doi Inthanon National Park. You’ll visit the highest peak where glorious views of the countryside await. You’ll also trek to many waterfalls and see the flora and fauna unique to this region. As time permits, you’ll visit several pagodas, hill tribe villages, and royal gardens.

Day 23: Chiang Mai | Cycling in Chiang Mai’s Countryside

Meals: Breakfast
Take a morning bicycle ride through the southern part of Chiang Mai. The route takes you on quiet and green land roads, passing temples and ruins dating back hundreds of years. Visit a special school for hill-tribe children and a small pottery school where you can see how they produce different shapes of pottery by hand. Ride along the Ping River and enjoy the clean highland air. Then return to the hotel for leisure time in the afternoon.

Day 24: Chiang Mai – Mandalay | Flight to Mandalay

Today, you’ll transfer by flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, our guide will greet you at the airport and escort you to Rupar Mandalar Resort for check in.

In the afternoon, you’ll go to see the Highlights of Mandalay. Start off your day with an opportunity to learn about the distinct Buddhist culture unique to Burma. You’ll visit the Mahamuni Image where you’ll have an opportunity to watch locals pray and place gold paper on the statue of Buddha for blessing.

You’ll also see the nearby facility where they make the gold leafs, a staple in Burmese religious practices. Then you’ll visit the 19th century Shwenandaw Monastery(Golden Palace Monastery) famous for its teak carvings of Buddhist mythology.

Next, you’ll see the Kuthodaw Pagoda which is a Buddhist stupa that contains the world’s largest book of Buddhism.

At the end of your day, you’ll enjoy a gorgeous sunset from the top of Mandalay Hill.

Day 25: Mandalay | Mandalay Highlights

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch

In the morning transfer to Sagiang, the capital of Sagiang Division located on the Irrawaddy River. You’ll cross the Inwa Bridge, which was built by the British in 1934. Then you’ll visit the Maha Ganayon Kyaung Monastery to see hundreds of monks line up for daily meals. Then visit U Bein Bridge – the longest teakwood bridge in the world.

Next, you’ll see Kaung Mu Taw Pagoda: a dome shaped pagoda. At the base of the pagoda there are 812 stone pillars, each one with a hollow and image of a Nat inside. Continue with a visit to Sagaing Hill. The hill has a number of small pagodas with many meditation centers along with Soon U Ponya Shin Pagoda – a pagoda painted with gold. You can stop at monasteries and nunneries to speak with monks while enjoying hot green tea.

Then continue visit with a visit of Amarapura, “City of Immortality”the old capital of Myanmar. At the end of the day, visit the ancient temple of Pahtodawgyi which was built in 1820.

Return to Mandalay and the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 26: Mandalay – Heho | Flight to Heho | Relax at Inle Lake

Board a morning flight to Heho. Upon arrival, our guide will greet you and transfer you to your Aureum Palace Inle Resort on Inle Lake. After check in, enjoy leisure time at the resort with views of the lake, or take a stroll along one of the nearby roads where you may find hill tribe and long-necked Karens who come to the lake to sell their handmade textiles and handicrafts.

Day 27: Heho | Discover the Life of the Intha Lake Tribe

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch

Your excursion today will be made by private long tail boat to see life of the In-tha tribe(name of local tribe who live on the lake), to discover their unique floating farms and life on the water. You will also witness local fisherman who fish while using only one leg to paddle the boat. Visit some of the temples and sites around the lake. Rest of the day is at your leisure to relax.

Today you’ll explore Bagan, where you will see its thousands of Buddhist pagodas spread in the valley of the Ancient City of Bagan. These pagodas used to own by individual families during prosperous times. First, visit the Nyaung Oo Market where locals buy and sell produce. Then stop at Shwezigon Pagoda which is the largest pagoda in Bagan painted with real gold.

Have a rest in hotel during the hot afternoon. Then you’ll enjoy a Horse Cart Ride first to the small village of Taung Phi where rests a worn teak monastery awaiting the rare tourists who are lost. You’ll continue by horse cart around temples and winding roads as the sun makes it’s way to the sky’s edge casting curious shadows from the temples across the plain. Continue to Shesandaw Pagoda. From your vantage point, you’ll watch one of the best sunsets in Southeast Asia. Then you’ll take a horse cart ride back to your hotel.

Day 29: Bagan – Yangon | Hot Air Balloon Over Bagan | Flight to Yangon

Experience the unrivaled majesty of thousands of ancient temples drifting below you in style, comfort and safety. You’ll rise early in the morning to beat dawn for a spectacular sunrise over the unique Bagan scene aloft in your hot air balloon. The captain will explain the safety procedures, and you can some coffee or tea before departure. Then the balloon will take off and you’ll be treated to an amazing view of the temples across Bagan. It is also great to see the other balloons in flight. After an hour ride, you’ll have a smooth landing. Note: The balloon company we contract has pilots who are from the United Kingdoms and have current air balloon pilots licenses in the U.K.
Then transfer by flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, be greeted at the airport by our guide and check in at Kandawgyi Palace. During the afternoon, we suggest exploring the nearby Kandawgyi Lake for a nice stroll with pleasant views.

Day 30: Yangon | Yangon Highlights

Meals: Breakfast , Lunch
After breakfast, visit the downtown area to see the Old City Hall, and Maharbandoola Park. Then take a stroll along the old street ending at the old Strand Hotel. Next, drive to Botahtaung Pagoda which features golden decorations inside the pagoda. Continue to Bogyoke Market which has on display the ten Burmese traditional handicrafts including stone carving, wood carving, bronze carving, painting, etc. Continue to the highlight of Yangon: the golden Shwedagon Pagoda. Shwedagon plays a very important role in the Old Burmese History and also is an important Buddhist icon. Enjoy sunset over the pagoda.

Day 31: Yangon – Bangkok | Flight to Bangkok | Bangkok Exploration

Take a morning flight to Bangkok. Upon arrival, our guide will greet you and escort you to Mandarin Oriental for check in.

Enjoy the afternoon by visiting some of the highlights of Bangkok. The first destination is Wat Phra Kaew, the chapel of the Emerald Buddha, which houses the world’s most famous image of Buddha. The 75cm statue of jade sits atop an 11m golden pedestal surrounded by lavish murals and richly decorated pavilions. Next, you’ll visit The Grand Palace which encompasses several major buildings. The most prominent include The Throne Hall, The Reception Hall and The Coronation Hall.

Then, you’ll visit Wat Traimit, the temple of the golden Buddha. It weighs 5.5 tons of solid gold, and was sculptured in the Sukhothai style. At the end of the tour, you’ll be escorted to your hotel.

Day 32: Bangkok | Thonburi Klongs: Venice of the East | Dinner Cruise by Banyan Tree

In the morning, you’ll pick up from the hotel to Thonburi, the western part of Bangkok, situated on the right side of the Chao Phya River. Its many canals had originally given Bangkok the name “Venice of the East.” Passing by boat along the canals gives you a first hand impression of the scenic life along Bangkok’s waterways. Also visit the Royal Barges and the Temple of Dawn. After tour is finished, you’ll return back to your hotel for your leisure time.

The evening will commence with a Chao Phraya River Dinner Cruise on Apsara by Banyan Tree. As dusk is setting, enjoy the views of the lights of Bangkok while tasting sumptuous courses served to you enroute.

Return to the hotel after dinner.
