Welcome to Vietnam! Upon arrival, our guide will greet you at the airport and escort you to hotel for check in. You’ll receive a short tour briefing in the lobby and then are at your leisure for the evening.

Day 2: Hanoi | City Highlights of Vietnam’s Capital
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, it is the country’s cultural heart, bearing traces of centuries of changing dynasties. Visit the Tran Quoc Pagoda, a 1,400 year old temple features ten tiers surrounded by gardens and which also hosts a Bodhi tree grown from a cutting of the original Buddhist tree under which Buddha sat. Next, you’ll take a stroll around the Hoan Kiem Lake where you can see the Tortoise Tower sitting on the water. Then you’ll enjoy a half hour cyclo tour through the Old Quarter in Hanoi.
In the afternoon, visit the One Pillar Pagoda which was built by a 9th century emperor who saw it in a dream and regarded this as divine inspiration to recreate the structure in the vision. Then stop in front of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to see its unique architecture. Continue to visit the highlight of this tour – The Temple of Literature. This ancient university was erected almost a millennium ago and has hosted many of the most prominent scholars through Vietnamese history.
At the end of the day, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese Water Puppetry Show followed by a Vietnamese Welcome Dinner.

Day 3: Hanoi – Sapa | Overland to Sapa, Discover Black H’mong Hill Tribes
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch
Today, we will travel around 4 hours on the newly built highway northward from Hanoi to Sapa through the lush countryside and beautiful mountainsides. Sapa is a lovely small town located near the top of the Annamite Range and surrounded by the ethnic hill tribes. This town at one time was summer retreat of the French during the colonial days.
Enjoy a half day excursion in the afternoon to the villages where the Black H’mong ethnics live. Take an enjoyable walk through the rice terrace fields along the mountain valley and through the villages, a great chance for you to meet and talk to locals about their daily life and work. You may also get a change to visit one of their houses to witness the day to day life in the mountains.

Day 4: Sapa | Authentic Weekly Bazaar of Flower H’mong Ethnic
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch
Each day of the week, various ethnic village tribes congregate together in remote sections of the mountains. They dress in their finest ethnic garments to represent their tribes as they come together to buy, sell and trade their produce and livestock with other villages. The hill tribe market is a unique opportunity to see the colorful ethnic apparel proudly on display. It is a time of social and community gathering. (Note: As different regions have different markets on certain days of the week, we will clarify which market and ethnics come to gather when providing a proposal based on your travel dates.)

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and escorted to Halong Bay, one of the Wonders of the Orient. Your heavenly journey across Halong Bay starts around noon on Tuan Chau Island at the doorstep of Vietnam’s most fascinating wonder. In the afternoon, discover some of the treasures disseminated across the Bay of the Descending Dragon with fascinating caves, pristine beaches, islets, picturesque floating villages, and fantastic rock formations rising up out of emerald water.

Wake up to Tai Chi exercises on the sun deck and continue cruising the bay. Breakfast buffet will be served in the restaurant, then you will visit the limestone grotto. Disembark in Halong City around noon and transfer back to Hanoi with your private vehicle, guide and driver.

Day 8: Hue | Discover the Ancient Heritage of Hue
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch
In the morning, you’ll start with a visit to the Perfume River, a river famed for its natural scenery and numerous flowers that cover its shores. Along the river, you’ll see Vietnamese daily life up close. Your boat will take you to the Tomb of Minh Mang, featuring gardens, many steps, and beautiful decorations. Then you’ll visit Tu Doc, a compound with the private royal residence and a tomb which also houses the body of one of the wealthiest emperors in Vietnam. Then continue on to see the Khai Dinh Tomb, a more modern tomb with ornate decorations inside.
Your ventures will take you to lunch at a royal residence. Then you’ll press onward to see the famed Imperial Hue Citadel – the old capital of Vietnam. This Citadel has a moat and wall perimeter 10 km long. You’ll be able to view its vast gardens and structure relics. Your driver will meet you on the other side of the city where you’ll then be escorted to a stop at the Dong Ba Market where you can see local fruits and produce for sale.

Day 9: Hue-Hoian | Mountain Coastal Road Trip to Hoi An
Meal: Breakfast
Check out hotel in the morning, then you’ll be escorted by private transfer (4 hours) for a scenic ride along the mountain coasts of Vietnam. Start by riding through the mountains, valleys, countryside, and shorelines where you’ll find numerous breath-taking scenes. Feel free to request your driver to stop for photos along the way. When you reach Hoian, check in hotel then enjoy relaxing time on the beach.

Day 10: Hoi An | 4th Century Cham Ruins and Hoi An Ancient Town

In the morning, you’ll transfer to My Son Holy Land. Tucked in the mountains up winding roads with serene views, lay the 4th century My Son ruins. The surrounding mountains are strictly forbidden from living or development. The ruins lay in a beautiful mountainous landscape. You’ll enter the temples while your tour guide gives you the history and stories of the Cham and the site. In the afternoon, you’ll continue to visit Hoi An Ancient Town. This town features the 16th century once bustling port town in its preserved state. Visit the historical sites in the town, and enjoy a cyclo tour along the roads and lanes in this beautiful town.

Enjoy relaxing time at the beach in the morning. Then check out from the hotel and be transferred to Danang airport for flight to Saigon.
Upon arrival Saigon, our guide and driver will greet you at the airport. Next, take your adventures underground for a lesson in history you won’t forget with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels . Discover these amazingly complex underground systems developed by the guerrillas fighting in the Vietnam War.
The rest of the day, enjoy a city discovery in downtown Saigon for its signature sites, such as The Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Post Office, and a walk into the Ben Thanh Market to discover local daily life.
In the evening, enjoy dinner on a cruise along the Saigon river, one of the most relaxing ways to take in the Saigon city lights.

Day 13: Saigon-Can Tho | Mekong Delta Discovery, Overnight at Can Tho
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch
Today, you will explore the Mekong Delta around My Tho. This burgeoning capital rests in the center of the delta and is surrounded by a beautiful countryside known as the “rice basket of Vietnam”.
First you’ll visit Vinh Trang Pagoda which is decorated with mosaics made from broken pottery. Overlooked by a tall white Buddha, it is set amongst lovely gardens packed with flowers, shrubs, lotus pools and tombs and ornate gates which provide entry.
Next, you’ll take a boat ride along the Mekong river to view the stilted houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages. After lunch, you’ll visit An Khanh, a small village that specializes in fruit orchards and coconut sweets. If time permits, you can take a short cycling trip through the island. Then enjoy seasonal fruit, honey tea, and delicious coconut candies all to the sound of “Southern Vietnamese folk music”, performed by locals.
Travel to Can Tho later in the afternoon and stay for overnight.

Day 14: Can Tho-Saigon | Morning Floating Market on Mekong River, Departure

Rise up early, greet the sunrise and you will embark on a motor boat down the Mekong River to the Cai RangFloating Market. You will find locals navigating their boats to trade their colorful produce in the morning. It is a busy bazaar on water, with locals bellowing out buying and selling calls while offering their goods to other boats with an offering pole.
After the morning floating market, enjoy some relaxing time for breakfast before the overland transfer back to Saigon airport for your late afternoon or evening homeward flight.
